Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian actress and television presenter. Her most well-known work is the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. Since she was the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. Alexandra began her professional career in showbiz early. Her roles included lead characters in television dramas as early as 16 years old. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including that in the role of Hitler's Secretary Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films that feature this beautiful diva. Alexandra has been involved in numerous notable international and national projects throughout the years. The British biographical feature Control, the Greek-language Drama The Dust of Time, and the French historical miniseries Napoleon include among them. Also, she was on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and also at Cannes Film Festival.
